Our Association and Benefits of Membership

The Beach Hut Owners Association of Walton is a voluntary organisation which was inaugurated in 1997 with the object of observing Beach Huts in the Southcliff and Eastcliff areas for any anomalies, damage or acts of vandalism and advising the owners as soon as possible. 

Every day of the year (except Christmas day) volunteers do a patrol of both Southcliff and Eastcliff checking for any damage which, if discovered, is reported to the owners without delay.  Where possible, they will secure the hut until the owner is able to carry out proper repairs. 

Our patrollers are not an anti-vandalism patrol nor are they assistant Police Officers. 

Membership of the Association is open to all Walton Beach Hut owners who pay a site licence fee to TDC.  Membership is granted on payment of an annual subscription by standing order to BHOAW which is determined at the AGM each year.  The subscription year runs from 1st April to the 31st March following. 

To keep Members regularly informed, a newsletter is produced and sent to all members twice per year.  Additional newsletters are produced when necessary and where possible, newsletters and updates are sent by email. 

By belonging to the Association, favourable insurance rates are offered and a list of recommended beach hut insurers is available.

Membership will be confirmed after receipt of the £5 subscription by standing order into our Bank Account.

Benefits of membership include:

• Daily patrols by volunteers who check members’ huts for obvious signs of storm damage or

vandalism and will contact members if there is a problem.

• Discounts on paint and building materials from local suppliers

• Support and advice from committee members who between them have experience of several

decades of beach hut ownership and maintenance.

Membership is only £5 a year.

Annual Subscription is £5.00 for the year (or part of) 1st April - 31st March 20____.
